A few months back I went to a conference and met a friend. He invited me to join me for dinner at his house. He and his partner picked me from hotel and took me to their house. He is a friend from college days, and I can call him a good friend. Let’s call my friend “ABX”.
Me: Thanks for organizing a such a dinner.
ABX: Do you really think You should feel honored to have it.
I was thinking- why the fuck I should feel so honored? I understand that it is generous, and I am truly honored. But his tone was condescending- as if he looked down on me.
Another example of insult- he was mentioning something that wouldn’t look good on me in front of his partner, who I met for the first time in my life. He acted in a way that myself respect is expendable and is not to be considered.
I am not sure if was only insult in the nights. They made arrangements for me in work night. They picked and dropped me from and to hotel (40 min drive).
It’s tough to be around such unpredictable friends! So, friend, Adios!
